In this Post i will be discussing about how to create disks for ASM. As a first Step we need to add 3 Disks to our Current Virtual Machine.
Here we will be using 3 Disks. 1 – 20 GB for Data, 2 – 10 GB for Logs and 3- for CRS information that will store Grid Information.
So below is step by step, Click on Edit virtual machine settings:
We already have 2 disks assigned to this VM. 60 GB and 40 GB.
Click Add and Select Hard Disk and Press Next:
Select SCSI and Press Next:
Select the first option and Press Next:
Give the space 20GB, you can configure more if you want to:
Press Next. default name for disk will come up, click on Finish.
No we have 1 More Disk added of space 20 GB, See below:
Same like above create 2 more Disk of Space 10 GB and 500 MB. Configuration will look like below:
Finally we have 3 Disks added.
In the Next Post we will be moving forward for the next step which will be required for the ASM Setup.
